Building Stronger Communities Through the Arts

Beyond entertainment, the season reflects YMCA Calgary’s broader mission to strengthen community connections and create spaces where people feel a sense of belonging.

“For families in the suburbs, there are a lot of barriers to going downtown to see a show,” says Dean Paddock, Vice President of Community Engagement at YMCA Calgary.

“By hosting live performances in our suburban theatres, families can experience affordable and immersive storytelling right in their communities”

Surveys show 80% of Albertans believe the arts positively impact their community. Initiatives like our Performing Arts Season 26/27 play a vital role in fostering creativity, connection, and cultural engagement.
