Family Weekend Getaways

Bring the family for a weekend full of adventure, relaxation, and quality time together in the great outdoors! Our Family Getaway Weekend offers a variety of activities for all ages, including archery, hiking, arts & crafts, a ropes course, nature scavenger hunts, a challenge course, canoeing or paddleboarding on the lake, and meeting our friendly horses.

Mountain Yoga Retreat

Unwind in Nature: Yoga Weekend Retreat at Camp Chief Hector. Join us for a rejuvenating Yoga Weekend Retreat at the breathtaking Camp Chief Hector YMCA in Kananaskis, Alberta. Nestled in the mountains and conveniently located just off the Trans-Canada Highway, this retreat is the perfect escape to reconnect with nature and yourself. This year, we will be hosting two retreats:

Your New Basecamp for Fun in the Mountains!

Round up your friends or family and experience the Basecamp Weekends at Camp Chief Hector YMCA from Friday to Sunday! Nestled in the breathtaking Kananaskis Valley, our brand-new insulated yurts provide the perfect home base for your mountain adventures.

What to Expect:

  • Adventure Awaits: Enjoy easy access to the mountains for all your outdoor adventures
  • Comfortable Accommodations: Stay in our cozy yurts, just remember to bring your 4-season sleeping bag and a pillow. Shared washrooms and showers are available on-site.
  • Delicious Meals: From a continental breakfast, packed lunch, tasty snacks, coffee & tea, and optional dinners, we make the meals easy so you can focus on the fun.
  • Flexible Stay: Come and go as you please throughout the weekend, with final departure by 4:00 PM on Sunday.

Camp Never Grow Up: Your Adventure Awaits!

Camp Never Grow Up is an unforgettable weekend getaway exclusively for adults (18+), whether you're reliving the magic of camp or experiencing it for the first time. Enjoy activities like rock climbing, high ropes, archery, and camp games, while taking in the stunning mountain views and relaxing on the lake with canoeing and paddleboarding.

Horsemanship Program

Looking to learn more about horses and horsemanship in a fun and supportive environment? Our five-session program is perfect for participants of all ages and experience levels—whether you're new to the world of riding or have been around horses before. Each session is three hours long, giving you plenty of time to practice groundwork, spend time in the arena, and explore trails, all while developing a meaningful connection with your horse.

What to Expect:

  • Build trust and familiarity with a horse
  • Learn to properly care for a horse
  • Ride in the arena and on trails
