Creating Spaces Where Everyone Belongs
At YMCA Calgary, we believe in welcoming with purpose. Our newcomer and Indigenous programs create safe, inclusive spaces where culture is celebrated, belonging is nurtured, and people of all ages can build confidence, make connections, and feel part of the community.

Confidence That Carriers Forward
Whether learning English or reconnecting with culture, program participants gain the skills and self-assurance to thrive in school, work, and play.

Connection That Feels Like Home
Our programs foster friendships, mentorship, and meaningful relationships — creating a sense of belonging that helps people feel rooted in their community.

Leadership That Lasts
Youth in our programs learn to lead. From mentorship to advocacy, they grow into changemakers in their schools, families, and communities.

Newcomer Programs
Our newcomer programs support individuals and families as they build a new life in Canada. Through free English classes, youth leadership programs, and community connections, we help people feel welcome, confident, and informed.

Indigenous Programs
Our Indigenous programs are guided by culture, connection, and community. Through land-based learning, Elder mentorship, and school-based programs, Indigenous youth explore their identity, build relationships, and celebrate their heritage in safe and welcoming spaces.
